This is the companion recipe to my Fakes Greek lentil soup recipe and I often make them together. I just made it up on my own one day. The soup, when cooked down slightly, has a set of flavors (which as you can see below, I enhance with a few extra spices) that goes really well with bland fish and feta. I like it because it makes a more well-rounded meal than just soup but is a light, healthy way to serve fish (except for the feta liberally spread everywhere of course, whistles innocently).

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

My kids were on a broccoli kick. I know, I’m shocked too. We went to the local health food store because I was looking for healthier sausage and needed organic fresh peanut butter. The kids get to pick a small (very small) treat. Out of now where, my daughter, who does love raw broccoli to be fair, decided that her treat is going to be an enormous head of fresh broccoli. Her brother, ever her faithful sidekick in all things immediately says that well he wants broccoli for his special treat too! How about that! Several pounds of organic (lucky for me it was on special clearance sale) broccoli to suddenly use up. So of course, in my usual thrifty mode, I made soup (really, was anyone surprised?) Under careful supervision of my children, with ample taste testing of the broccoli, (my daughter eats the tops, my son only the stems as luck would have it) I made this delightful soup.

Baked Mac and Cheese

So it’s cold outside. I know, this is not a newsflash right? And when it’s cold one should eat proper hearty dishes, things like stews, casseroles and mac and cheese. Comfort food to warm the body and stick to your ribs. With that goal in mind I have finally started making my baked mac and cheese again and I’ve remembered all over again why I enjoy it so much. It’s got a heartier feel to it than regular mac and cheese. One might say this dish is to regular mac as stew is to soup. They are cousins in the same food family, but this is pulling out the big guns against the cold.

Привет! Вот мой первый рецепт на русском. Как видно, я плохо пишу на русском, но этот язык мне очень интересно и я его долго изучала. Мой цель писать все моих рецептов на русском языке. Те рецепты обычная американская кухня и я их часто готовлю. Если у вас есть вопросы о этом рецепте или другом рецепте, пожалуйста напишите мне. А если бы вы хотели кое-что рецепт на русском, напишите мне и я его переведу.

Обычные Брауни ну называние рецепта говорит все, что вам нужно узнать. Они те брауни вы хотите приготовить когда вы только хотите что-то простой, шоколадный и конечно вкусный. Тут нет орехов, карамели или глазурь, хотя все из них привычные в брауниях (и мне эти варианты тоже нравятся и иногда готовить). Я часто их готовлю из-за этой причины. Надеюсь, что вы их тоже часто приготовите.
