Berliner Donuts

Kid Friendly Tasks: Powdered Sugar Sprinkler

Ich bin ein Berliner. I suppose it’s mandatory to start with that, certainly after tasting the recipe below. These fabulous donuts came to me from a Postcrosser in Germany who kindly sent me the recipe and now has me in the mood to revive my German. I love international recipe exchanges. Foods I wouldn’t even think of make their way to my door and I’m always a fan of trying them out. We got my son’s favorite soup recipe that way and have discovered a lot of new classics.

Real Belgian Waffles

Serves: 2-3

Time: 1.5 hours

Kid Friendly Tasks: Batter mixer

So I’ve mentioned that I might be addicted to PostCrossing and have been using it as a fun source of new recipes. I got this recipe from a Postcrosser in Belgium and true to her non-American nature she recommends serving them with powdered sugar, whipped cream and fruit or ice cream and chocolate sauce. I have since enlightened her as to the wonders of maple syrup.
